Hoorah! Tezeta, the highly entertaining new project from pianist Dan Inzani (Count Bobo, Mandibles, Bert Miller & The Animal Folk) is based on ‘that wobbly Ethiopian funk music we all love to groove to’, and it features Robbie Burges playing the vibes – surely the coolest sound of all? The 7-piece line-up play sparkling classics from Mulatu Astatke and others as well as original numbers, and there’s Afrobeat, jazz and funk all thrown into the mix.
